The advantage of planting in winter is that the plants and palms are dormant so they are protected from any shock of being replanted and as the weather warms in spring they will already be getting established for you to enjoy over summer. The biggest advantage is that you won’t need to water which is one of the biggest reason why plants and lawns don’t do well when first planted in summer is because of the lack of regular watering. The more established they are by summer time the more they will cope if they don’t get as much water as they really need over summer.
